National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) started in1949.Then it was named as Strictly Stock Series.From 1950-1970 it was known as Grand National Series. From 1971-2003 it was recognized as Winston Cup Series. 

From the very beginning NASCAR sprint cup series is a combination of 36 races.After the 26th race 10 top scored driver participate for the final chase consists of 10 races.

Among all the races DAYTONA 500 is the most prestigious race of NASCAR.

Sprint Cup Series cars are unique in automobile racing. The engines are powerful enough to reach speeds over 200 mph (320 km/h), but high weight – coupled with a (relatively) simple aerodynamic package – makes for poor handling.
